India’s energy landscape is undergoing a transformative shift, driven by rapid industrialization, urbanization, and a commitment to sustainable development. With energy consumption rising steadily, recording a 7.8% increase in FY 2023 to 2024, the nation is expanding its energy infrastructure across traditional and renewable sources.

Many industries still rely on fossil fuels to meet their energy requirements. However, future energy demand will be fulfilled by renewable sources like SAF, biodiesel, solar, and CBG. This shift demands competent material solutions capable of withstanding harsh conditions such as high temperatures, corrosivity, and pressure.

Advanced materials play a pivotal role in this context, offering superior resistance to corrosion, high temperatures, and mechanical stress. Their application is critical in sectors like oil and gas, petrochemicals, and renewable energy, where operational reliability is paramount.

With over 160 years of expertise in materials technology, we are at the forefront of providing such solutions. Through our state-of-the-art facility in Mehsana, Gujarat, we deliver high-performance materials and provide operators with the confidence and capability to meet future energy needs.

Sanicro® 35: Bridging performance and efficiency

Originally designed to address corrosion challenges in crude distillation unit (CDU) overhead condensers, Sanicro® 35 has emerged as a versatile alloy that bridges the performance gap between stainless steels and high-nickel alloys. It offers excellent resistance to general corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in both acidic and chloride-laden environments.

Its high mechanical strength enables the use of thinner tube walls, improving heat transfer efficiency while reducing weight and material costs. These properties make it particularly suitable for:

  • Overhead condensers in refineries
  • Renewable diesel and SAF production units
  • Heat exchangers handling corrosive fluids or vapours
  • Applications involving sea water

Sanicro® 35’s proven field performance, including many years of service in aggressive CDU environments, provides operators with confidence in its long-term reliability.

SAF™ 3006: Advanced duplex for acid and caustic environments

SAF™ 3006 is Alleima’s latest addition to its duplex stainless-steel portfolio. Engineered specifically for corrosive heat exchanger environments, this high-alloy super duplex grade offers a cost-efficient alternative to nickel-based alloys while delivering excellent performance in acidic and caustic service conditions.

Key advantages include:

  • Superior resistance to hydrochloric acid and intergranular corrosion
  • High mechanical strength for lighter, more compact equipment
  • Excellent pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride media

SAF™ 3006 is tailored for use in:

  • Acid coolers
  • Caustic evaporators
  • Condensers in chemical and petrochemical plants

It offers similar or better resistance compared to SAF™ 2507 and far exceeds traditional grades like 904L. For customers requiring durable, high-performance tubing that delivers long-term savings and reliability, SAF™ 3006 is a material of choice.
